Situated in the heart of the Dorset countryside, Thorncombe Farm offers a warm, friendly welcome. Our mostly flat campsite has beautiful views into the valley and comes with all the amenities you would expect from a small site, with the add bonus of fresh free range eggs and home produced meat, burgers and sausages !
Facilities include showers , toilets and wash up.
Our farm also has a supply of meat cuts, mince, burgers ,sausages and free range eggs (duck and chicken) for sale. Contact us if you wish to pre order

Bell Tents
For 2023 glampers and those that want to take the hassle out of pitching/buying a tent/less baggage in the vehicle or even those that want to try camping under canvas for the first time our site has
5 metre bell tents each with the following
1 Double and 2 single beds, carpeting,storage cabinet and mirror. The beds are supplied with a bottom sheet only. So please bring what you need.
Electricity to the tents so we can provide a small fridge, recharge points for devices, Recharge lamps for lighting.
Each bell tent has a separate dining tent with seating and table and a fire pit / barbeque and a double ring gas stove.
Four settings of cutlery , plates and mugs are supplied with a wash bowl. Extras can be provided. No cooking utensils supplied.
Each booking is for a minimum 2 night stay and is for 4 people. We can supply 2 additional Disco beds bunks to take the total to six guests .
The additional guests would be subject to a supplemental charge. Any queries please contact us before booking if necessary.
PLEASE NOTE: No Dogs/Pets in Bell Tents at all, please ensure you have secure accommodation for your Dogs/Pets. You will be asked to leave if you fail to do
NOISE POLICY and BEHAVIOUR. “BE NICE - OR LEAVE” NO REFUNDS.
We operate a small scale quiet, relaxed and laid back campsite. All electronic music and percussion instruments of any kind are banned. Loud noise doesn’t fit into the ethos of communal camping and we reserve the right to remove any campers who act inappropriately or do not follow our noise guidelines.
We ask that campers please respect fellow campers and our local neighbours. There is a LOW NOISE POLICY from 9 pm around the campsite.
2024 Bell Tent Tariffs Open from 1st May 2024 until 30th September 2024.
Please note deposit ( non refundable ) is taken at booking then 42 days prior the balance is paid.
The agents we use take the deposit with the balance to ourseleves. That deposit is non refundable as it is a fee to use the booking system. Prior to 42 days we can elect to refund any monies other than the deposit. Balances are paid at 42 days prior so no refund. If cancelled before no monies (balance) is taken

Waste Policy.
We will provide facilities for recycling clean glass, paper, cardboard, metal cans and plastic bottles/containers. NO DISPOSABLE BBQ's
We do not have facilities for disposing of BBQ’s and any camping equipment and are unable to accept it; we ask you take this home.
We also can not accept empty gas canisters under any circumstances.

Pet Policy: Dogs allowed on the site (max 2 per tent ). Dogs must be kept under control or on lead at all times, and please remember there are other guests who may not like your dog. Clear up all mess. Please note there is no exercise area on the campsite or farm due to our livestock, however the local woods are less than 5 minutes away. NO PETS IN OUR BELL TENTS AT ALL - YOU MAY WELL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. Guests should make their own arrangements for their pet accomodation.
Camping .
We have space for 25 pitches grass pitches on the farm.
Each pitch is priced for 2 adults and 1 car though you may increase to 8 people per tent.
Please additional fees are required for each individual above the 2 within the price of the pitch.
Above 8 persons another is pitch is required
Arrival is from 1500hrs to 2000hrs. Departure is 1030hrs. Please note: NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES.

We do allow gazebos and day tents but must be no occupancy i.e no sleeping overnight.
Fire pits are available for hire , limited number , can be booked online with pitch as can logs be purchased as well.
If you require a fire pit then book one of the firepit pitches as opposed to a standard

NO disposable foil BBQ's, or any fire pits on ground as they burn the field. We would ask that you extinguish them if you ignore the request not to bring them.
Vehicle awnings are allowed that are part of the vehicle. Tents that are built off the side of a vehicle or caravan, as a sort of awning. that are not part of the vehicle or 'van structure are deemed a second pitch tent and charged for accordingly.
Larger groups over 6 people must contact us before booking.

Try our Lamb Burgers and Goat sausages and burgers. Some of the flavours we do are Garlic & Herb and Curry Goat Sausages. Goat Boerwors. Plain Goat Burgers. Minted Hogget Burgers and 1/2lb Hogget burgers. 'Hogget ' is teenage lamb .

Local Activities
Our peaceful setting has access to all kinds of activities locally to keep everyone entertained through the duration of their stay.
For those that love the outdoors next to the farm are the open woods of Thorncombe and Puddletown with miles of trails for walking , cycling and horse riding.
For the less energetic among us, there museums and exhibitions locally to visit.
Just down the road, the pretty county town of Dorchester is only 2 miles away with an number of museums, plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes to enjoy.
Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast is a short drive from the farm. Weymouth is known for its long sandy beach, marina and harbour, plus a good retail shopping area. The Castle at Portland and the famous Chesil beach stretching for some 18 miles West towards Lyme Regis is just a stone's throw from there. The coastal path just outside Weymouth runs over the famous cliffs of the Jurassic Coast and for those keen on hiking it is possible from Weymouth to hike along these cliffs to Luworth Cove and back in a day.
Fishing , sailing, golf, adventure golf, paddle boarding, jet skis and kite surfing are also all available locally.
